The Art of Ignoring people.

Ha! As my female collegues will answer in the affirmative. That our boss is the ultimate in ignoring people if he chooses :) The women all hate it so much, I guess its an ingrain thing of needing to feel needed. Social creatures women are so such “punishment” works the best.

Unfortunately for him, most of his staff are guys are the moment, we love it that he ignores us :) so one of the guys is the main management material. Fortunately or not, he’s the go between for all of us. Interesting enough even he finds that he’s begining to think like the boss. Is that good or bad? Nobody knows.

Watched a program last night, about millionaires. Saw only a few minutes of it. One of the people commented that most self-made multi-millionaires tend to be more supportive of the staff then others. The principle being, if I can help you perform your best, the company benefits, the staff benefits and ultimately the boss benefits.

The other comment that was made was “the happier you are at work, the better you perform”. The general comment, was this was a load of crap. When has anybody gotten a paycheck that says “for your happiness at work”. Nobody is always happy all the time. There are always moments of happiness and unpleasantness. If you focus on making sure that the boss looks good, he’ll look out for you.

Is this always true? I wonder. The question is why do you want to be under that boss all the time. The unfortunate truth is that many people have no idea who really performs well. The one who make presentations or the one who did the work to create the presentations? Truthfully, that’s what politicians are every where. We can do without them, but we need them to get the masses together. No I don’t necessarily mean government types, but also those within companies.

Still do we want to be that? Why the hell not!?!? More money.. but you’ll have to be careful of people like me who might just for the fun of it spoof information just to damm the speaker. :) hehehe. Then provide the correct solution.

Still we all have to sell ourselves to work. Unfortunately, the job hunting is so massive nowadays, that we have to be able to sell ourselves in 3 seconds or less, or else our resumes get dumped into the “waste”. Learning to bring out a irresistible offer of our skills and knowledge is the goal for me in the coming month.

Finally results out…

Yeah lousy 3rd class honours.. well to be expected.. never did study hard..

but so glad its over.

One of my friends commented “Congrats michael. Well, so long as you felt it was worth it and got something out of it. Girls maybe?”

I replied “Yup sure did, had this crazy malaysian accountant that followed me around, always sat near me. One day, some of the others noticed that I talked to her. They said, “How come you’re talking to her.. don’t you know she’s nuts?” Then of course we began a lively converstation of “What else did she do to show she was nuts!” hehehe :) Man, we  all had a really good laugh about it.. brings back fun memories.

During those days I made sure I was sitting on the side of the classroom and tried to make sure another friend was sitting next to me so that I didn’t have to sit next to her. :)
